    Apply For Provisional Entitlement

    After you have attended your medical you will need to send the D2 & D4 form, along with your driving licence photocard, to the DVSA in the envelope we provided. It can take up to 3 weeks for the DVSA to return your licence. In the meantime, we recommend that you study for your relevant theory tests.

    Pass Your Theory & Hazard Tests

    Let us know once your provisional licence has been returned and we will book your Theory Multiple Choice and Hazard Perception tests at a local theory centre to you. You will need to pass both tests to start your driving course with us.

    Once you have passed the theories, we will be pleased to confirm a booking for you on your driver training course. After passing your practical tests, before you are able to drive commercially, you will need to complete Drivers CPC training in order to obtain your Drivers’ Qualification card.

    I done my C1 about a month ago with RSM, to say the least i was 💩 myself. Fully convinced i'd fail. First day was a busy morning as i had my reversing test first thing but Ian was great, made me feel comfortable and confident in doing it, could make a joke out of most things which made me feel super happy :)My other 2 days i had Wayne and he was also amazing, helped me become a lot more conscious of surroundings and helped me just brush up on a few things i was forgetting! Neither of my instructors had a horrible bone in their body.On test day i was noticeably anxious like anyone would be but again i was made to feel completely at ease and actually went into my test hopeful! I managed to pass first time, i was over the moon but i definitely couldn't have done it without Ian and Wayne being such good instructors and being on test site definitely helps because you get used to the test centre rather than the daunting thing of turning up on test day!Thanks again to everyone who helped me do my C1 💪🏼

    Highly Recommended!I had the best experience training with RSM Training in Wickford for my HGV licence. My instructor, Ian Morris, was absolutely brilliant – a lovely guy, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about helping his students succeed. The whole team at RSM is friendly and professional, making you feel welcome from day one.Their trucks and trailers are modern, clean, and well-maintained, which makes learning so much easier and enjoyable.     Passed first time. They have fantastic staff all instructors are welcoming and nice and will go foot of there way to help if you ask a question no matter how dumb the question may sound very professional overall also got to give a shout out to boss (treena) who was a great laugh and incredibly helpful and kind.

    A big thanks to the whole team at RSM, they were all very welcoming and knowledgeable, they were able to tailor my training to suit my needs, with a debrief after each day to summarise progress. I had Jay as my instructor for the week.Although their new facility was not complete for the reverse exercise, it was still completed on site, and the fact they are now a test centre meant more training time, as no need to waste time traveling off site.In summary I’d highly recommend RSM for all driver training, and will use them again in the future!

    Following the recommendation of a friend, I booked my course to go straight to Class 1 from my car license.I think I spoke to every girl in the office through the whole process, it was made very easy and they catered for my availability. Everything was explained well to remove any confusion over what was needed and my questions were answered without any issues. From the theory practice using the app that’s included through to passing my practical test was smooth and well guided.Geoff was my instructor, a few days of having a good laugh out and about whilst knowing he was stern enough to make sure I understood and absorbed the abundance of experience he had to offer. 0 minors and a pass first time speaks volumes!Every single member of staff that I interacted with left me with a positive experience, I literally cannot find a single fault.I would highly recommend using RSM to my friends and family!

    I needed to get my C1 license urgently for July and opted for an intensive 2-day course, absolutely the right decision.From start to finish, the team was incredible. I had Jay on day one, Wayne on day two, and Kev for my final few hours before the test. Each of them brought something different to the table, but all were equally brilliant. Friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed, they pushed me to improve with every hour behind the wheel.Thanks to their top-notch training, I passed on my first attempt! I now completely understand why they have one of the highest pass rates in the business.Even though the site was further than other training centres I was looking at, it was absolutely worth the journey. If you're serious about passing and want the best possible guidance, I can't recommend this driving school enough.Thank you.

    I recently did my ADR (full course as I wanted the CPC hours) with RSM.The process was frictionless and every aspect was taken care of. No chasing to see why drivers CPC hours had not been uploaded to my records, billing was accurate and on time.Full marks to Ian my instructor for the week. Years of experience and vast amounts of knowledge shared. His ability to deliver a course with passion, knowldge and engagement are a real asset to RSM.A massive thank you to all at RSM who worked so hard to deliver a great offering.Highly recommend.

    Aside from having a different instructor on the first day to the rest of the week, it was a good experience overall, Jay managed to get me back on track pretty quick, big thanks to him and the rest of the team for helping me pass my Class 2!Highly recommend RSM to anyone looking to add extra categories to their driving licence, or making a career change to becoming a professional driver.I found it made a big difference training with a company that the test centre runs out of too

    I passed my D License at RSM Training School today, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the experience.From start to finish, the staff was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive.     During my last 3 days at RSM I’ve felt so comfortable and at ease with Trina as my trainer. She looked after me so well, answered all my questions and never made me feel like anything was a silly thing to ask. She made me feel so at ease and so comfortable and if it wasn’t for her I genuinely don’t believe I would have been able to pass first time!     So great full to the team at RSM, I’ve just completed car to HGV C&E with CPC training, and I’m pleased to say everyone and everything was top notch, Ladies in the office are very helpful and love what they do, Dave done my CPC then trained me to drive the class 1 with some very testing days out on the road, but we got there and I passed. Thank you all very much!! I now have a great future as a HGV class 1 driver😁

    I highly recommend RSM Driver Training Ltd, I just completed the training with them and Pass my HGV C+E test, very good instructors and friendly staff.If you can satisfy my instructor (Kev) then you are good, my advise is listening to him key and focus on what he say rather than worrying about the Examiner or Test Day. Instructors have yours & public safety in mind so when they give you instructions it's for your interest to listen to what they say.I'm satisfy with the quality of training I got and I appreciate RSM for that.Semere Tekeste.

    A brilliant experience from start to finish. Communication leading up to the test was amazing and everything was taken care of thanks to Louisa.Great instruction throughout from my instructor Jay. Very knowledgeable.     Well... what can I say. I had an amazing week with my driving instructor, Trina, who made sure I was well prepared to pass my D1 licence on my first time.Tina was clear through out the training and answered any questions I had(even the silly ones). She made the training feel so easy and comfortable.The staff in RSM are all very welcoming and funny and help you feel at home throughout the driving.If you are looking for anywhere to do your minibus, RSM is the place for you⭐️💫.

    I recently did my lorry training with RSM, and I had a really good experience. My instructor, Dave, was brilliant—patient, knowledgeable, and always made me feel at ease behind the wheel. Even though I didn’t pass first time, Dave kept me motivated and gave me the support I needed to improve and eventually pass. The whole team at RSM was helpful and professional throughout the process. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone thinking about getting their lorry licence!

    Well what can I say.. My experience with RSM was incredible. My C+E trainer, Dave, was very calm and welcoming making the atmosphere really relaxed and a great place to take onboard all that he was teaching. This made a massive difference for me as I was able to listen to him without panicing or being stressed. His knowledge of C+E is incredibly in-depth and his clear and calm communication made the training both engaging and informative. I honestly feel that despite dave telling me he was "teaching me how to pass a test" that he infact taught me so much in the 16 hours that he not only taught me how to pass but how to drive a C+E out on the open roads with confidence.The entire RSM team at wickford were not only friendly but also very professional and welcoming, from the minute you walk through the door on the first day until you leave on the last with a pass certificate the entire team is incredible. I truly believe that RSM is the best out there and would highly recommend anybody wanting to gain a new licence to go the RSM. You won't regret it.. TRUST ME!

    I chose RSM purely because they were the closest to me and hadn't really looked at any reviews, but I was very pleased right from day one with the friendliness of the girls in the office who gave me some excellent advice on how to proceed right through to the instructor (Dave) who is very patient and knowledgeable. I did 16 hours learning to drive a Class 1 vehicle which I think was about right considering I have 20 plus years experience driving Class 2, however there is quite a big difference between these two classes but this jump was made easier by the instructor. I would definitely recommend RSM to anyone looking to do their HGV training as their facilities are very good the people are super friendly and helpful and the trucks are fairly modern....... nothing more to say really but a big thank you to all involved!

    Recently passed my class 1 and i can’t express enough how good they were! They really made the whole experience as stress free as possible and my week training with Jeff or Geof was such a fun week as he was hilarious and really knows what he’s doing so he made it such a fun and easy experience for me!     I would highly recommend this company for minibus training. The team that helped train me and help me though my tests were Steve, Ian and Treena. They were all excellent. I also liked their good customer service provided by Louisa and Alina, they sent lovely congratulation messages when I passed my theory tests, which I thought was a nice touch.     A five star experience from start to finish. I started my training back in 2021. The ladies in the office are fantastic they handled everything from start to finish and are polite and professional.     Wow what a week!!!I have nothing but praise for the team at RSM, from booking my theory to passing my class D & CPC.I echo what Simon & Nathan have said, I also already have my class C+E and Treena tailored the course around this.Treena was amazing, we hit it off straight away, a first class instructor, she’s a credit to the company!!I did my CPC with Steve, he was funny, friendly & very knowledgeable too.Both Treena & Steve taught me how to actually drive the coach, and not just how to pass the test.I was never made to feel nervous, everyone was encouraging & friendly.I’m gutted I’ve already got my C+E as I would definitely book with RSM again.I totally recommend RSM to anyone who is considering professional driving qualifications.Definitely a week to remember!!Thank you all at RSM!!

    I recently completed my cat D licence with RSM. Treena was able tailor the course to me with my previous experience of a class 2 licence and put me at ease throughout. I was trained in a real world situation and how to handle real life situations on the road rather than just how to pass a test which ultimately resulted in a first time pass on test day.A thank you to the whole team who made the whole experience (theory right through to the practical driving test) a breeze and as stress free as possible.

    What can be said about Treena and the team at RSM?Apart from the fact that the whole team are excellent. Every member of staff I met were polite, friendly and smiling. Overall the centre was a pleasure to be at. The staff were brilliant, from Louisa and Rhia in the office who arranged the course dates and payment to Treena and the other instructors working the frontline so to speak!I had Treena as my instructor for a 4 day Category D DVSA course. She was professional, polite and friendly throughout and was a credit to the company. She taught me everything I could possibly need to pass first time and to keep me driving safely in the future.Much as with Simon's review below she tailored the training to the knowledge I already had from my CE licence, which is a skill in itself.I hope to return to this company to complete further training in other areas and look forward to meeting more members of their outstanding staff.I would certainly recommend RSM to anyone considering doing any driver training.

I did the Cat D licence and the training is very structured compared to other companies, but it was great that Treena was able to tailor it for my previous C+E experience.     I was accepted onto the Government Bootcamp novice to C+E intensive course.The two instructors I had Russ for the C class and Geoff for the C+E were both excellent. They were both knowledgeable, and instructed me well. They would tell me at the time when I made a mistake, however not bombard me with info as I was concentrating, rather at the debriefs during rest or at the end, they would go into detail as to what I did wrong, what consequences that may have and what I should do instead. That way I could fully understand how to become a better driver rather than just being told what to do to get through the test.I couldn't have asked for better instructors. I would highly recommend RSM if you're thinking of doing the course

    We had another driver pass first time (with no experience of lorries) with 0 faults at the start of the year, and have just put another 2 of our drivers through their 35 hours of periodic training (one being our transport manager, for his second time - poor soul!). Dave is brilliant, making the course interesting and as 'pain free' as he could throughout the week - adding in extra information where needed, and passing on a lot of his own experience from his driving days - both guys came away having learned some new things to take into their own driving.Having now put 5 drivers through their cat C licenses, and so far 8 drivers through their periodic training, it's always a pleasure to have a reason to make contact with Alina and Louisa! Friendly as ever, nothings ever too much - we couldn't recommend them highly enough.Thanks as always to the RSM Team, plenty more training coming up!

    I recently started setting the foundations for a new career in HGV driving. RSM have been great from my initial enquiry. Louisia in the office was very helpful with getting everything set up and my trainer Mick was a perfect fit for me.     I just passed my C1 licence with RSM, across my week training I was instructed by Mick, Jay, and Mark who were all brilliant with their training. They all adapted the training to my learning style and explained the expectations for the exam in clear terms and clearly explained what I need to do to achieve that level then all helped me to drive to that level.     Years ago I approached RSM to get my HGV journey started, with medicals and theory tests etc.. From that initial meeting I knew RSM were an extremely professional company, and when it came to doing my Class 1 lessons in July this year, I was not surprised to see the same level of professionalism was there- if not more!Mick was the absolute legend who took me out on my lessons for the week and I cannot thank him enough for helping me, especially with the reverse test! Mick also made me feel more and more confident as time went by, and we still had a laugh, and remained professional throughout the week and because of that I passed my Class 1 first time with zero minors!Everyone there was so nice, from the girls in the office to the team of instructors.I would 100% recommend RSM for all your HGV needs, you really cannot get any better in my opinion!Thanks guys!

    I was impressed by the stars but...The clerical team is brilliant, accurate. The first trainer, Mick is a great man.The other trainer just played with the phone all day long. Unfortunately the school's methods didn't work, I became stressed by the end of the week and failed on the test. I don't know the reason, they didn't explained a single word.When I complained to my agency they began to spread lies about me.The training room was freezing cold.Finally I found the Robinson and with their training I made a successful test for the first try.

    Best place to get your drivers licenses!Stuff super friendly and helpful starting from the girls in the office to all the instructors.I had Mark and David as instructors there are both very professional, helpful and super patient.I was so scared to drive a manual vehicle special a C1 after I stopped 15 years ago.Clutch control and changing gears was my biggest fear . After 2 weeks training with the professionals Mark and David I overcome all my fears.Thank you very much .

    (This review is on my partner Stuart’s Bates behalf)Started my training with Mark from RSM Colchester on 19th June after never being inside a lorry before Mark made me feel at ease and comfortable, he was a very thorough and informative instructor and within the 8 days with him I’m pleased to say I’m a fully qualified HGV driver passed with no minors and all thanks to Mark and all his training and support.Can’t thank him enough and been such a brilliant experience!

    I went though RSM to get my Articulated Lorry license and could not be more please. I passed first time thanks to Mark who trained me, he was very professional and is a great teacher. I went to their training depot in Colchester which was convenient for me as I am from Ipswich. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for a new career.

    Passed with RSM Category D in 2017 + CPC, Category C + CPC in 2021 and Category CE in 2023. All tests were passed first time. I highly recommend RSM Commercial Driver Training if you wish to get your PCV/HGV licences. Great team, great instructors.

    If you are thinking of taking your C+E licence with RSM Commercial Driver Training, then you are doing the right thing.I had Geoff as my instructor. I couldn't have had a better person to coach me. He was professional, patient, easy to communicate with and most importantly, was trying his utmost to pass on his vast experience and knowledge to me. As a result of a week of driving with him, I passed my driving test, first time. Thank you Geoff, you are a gentleman of the highest order.

    Absolutely enjoyed every part of my direct access course through RSM for a Class 1 C+E licence. My dad passed with them last year upgrading from his Class 2, so I decided to give it a go. Both my instructors made me feel at ease over the 2 weeks and thoroughly knew what they were doing.Apart from letting my nerves get the better of me a little during my test, I went in feeling very confident I'd come out happy, and I got it 1st first.I would recommend anyone interested in going for an upgrade to their licence coming through here, especially after seing them take other guys/girls who have failed elsewhere and bring them comfortably up to pass.

    I passed my HGV C+E test with RSM and couldn’t be happier with their service. All the staff are very friendlyMy instructor Mark he was brilliant, and a really nice person and supported me. He made sure i knew everything i needed too and loads of advice, and everything he told me that would happen during my test I did… I honestly cannot fault him in any way!-Thanks again Mark!Steve and the other few instructors i met throughout the week was all very friendly and supportive too.I would definitely recommend RSM to anybody interested.

    Passed today with the ever amazing Tom. Started out so unsure and worried about what it would be like to drive such a large object. From the minute I sat in the cab toms words and actions were reassuring and informative. Honestly what a life changer the pass is and to do it with such ease, confidence and knowledge that was instilled into me via Tom. I fully recommend anyone that wishes to undertake any training give RSM a call and request Tom. Not many instructors that work so well on your strengths and flaws. Thanks mate 🍻🍻🍻

    I passed my C1E driving test today, first time!!! And it's all credit to the team at RSM but especially Mick. Mick was my instructor, who took me out each day, but I also had Jay once and also Jay for my reverse instruction, who were both brilliant. Mick taught me the superb skills to carry on throughout my driving life, and how to be a safe and professional driver. He made it a very fun and I really enjoyed his company. His knowledge of the road and his teaching skills were absolutely brilliant and second to none. I can't thank him enough for teaching me how to be a better safer driver. They say you never forget a great teacher, and I will never forget Mick for his brilliant training. Thankyou to Mick and the whole team at RSM! Hopefully see you again one day in the near future!

    RSM were incredible at getting me through my C1 course so I could go on to drive an Ambulance. The admin team were really efficient and corresponding with me and getting me booked in as soon as possible, being flexible with my schedule. My instructor; Mick, was amazing and I cannot recommend him enough. He was approachable, patient and encouraging the whole way throughout my lessons, even when I doubted myself. He took all the time needed to get me from being a beginner to being confident on the road, and made me feel relaxed the whole time. All the other staff I met along the way were friendly as well. I cannot recommend RSM enough and if you want to smash your C1, ask for Mick!

    Brilliant! My experience with RSM was great from day one. I started my training in a completely new area to me Chelmsford but my instructor Mick was fantastic.. he covered everything I needed to know and prepared me perfectly for the test in just 4 days. I was completely happy with the training provided and I definitely recommend

    I passed my category c+e first time after being trained by Steve, I can’t fault him. Really nice bloke, made me feel confident and at ease throughout the hole process. Can’t thank him enough! All the the instructors where really good including the ladies in the office who where very helpful. Would highly recommend RSM to anyone who is thinking about learning.

    I undertook my C1 Driver Training with RSM a couple of weeks ago to be able to drive an ambulance. I passed my C1 first time with no minors last Saturday. I would like to thank my instructor Mark as he is definitely the reason I done so well and passed my test. I could not have asked for a better instructor and I believe Marks instruction is the reason I felt so confident and at ease, Mark ensured I was pushed to my ability to do the best I possibly could but in a safe manor. So a big thank you to Mark and the RSM team for making me feel so comfortable and at ease. Mark is a very competent instructor, very knowledgable and makes you believe in yourself more and have more confidence. I Would 100% recommend RSM anyone. Thanks once again to the RSM team and Mark to getting me on step closer on my journey in the ambulance service.

    I recently completed my training through RSM by my employer. I can honestly say RSM are excellent in every aspect of their field. From all the girls in the office to the instructors, were first class and incredibly helpful.I would like to say a special thank you to Jay who was my instructor. He made me feel very comfortable from the first minute. Extremely thorough and highly professional in everything he did.     I have just completed my training and passed my class 2 licence with RSM. The ladies in the office are amazing, they keep you informed and answer any questions you might have. My instructor was Sarah, she was brilliant, she made me feel at ease, gave me confidence and valuable knowledge. I really enjoyed learning the skills needed. Every member of the RSM team I encountered was lovely and shared their advice. So if your looking to try a new career in this industry, I would highly recommend RSM.

    Great experience training at RSM for my class 1 license! The girls on reception have been so helpful guiding me through the whole process. Massive shout out to Christian and Mark for training me on the rigid and then moving me up into the artic. They were excellent, very informative, calm and supportive through the whole thing! The other instructors at RSM were wonderful too sharing experiences of their years on the road and helpful tips to take with me for my years ahead in the trucking industry! They were all happy to answer any questions I had.Female friendly environment I didn't feel I was treated any different which was nice!Highly recommend booking in with these guys!I'm so thrilled I have my class 1 license now! Really pleased I chose to train with RSM!

    My experience with RSM has been fantastic from start to finish. Booking my training course itself was a breeze, at every stage everyone has been so friendly and informative. As someone who booked and paid for the course off my own back, this was very important to me and played a massive part in making me decide to go with RSM. Having come from bus driving previously, I was deemed ready to make the most of the change in staging rules and go straight into a C+E vehicle & test. I had Russ for my assessment and training, and I honestly could not say a bad word at all about him! He is an excellent instructor, very well informed and made sure I knew everything I needed to do to meet the requirements of the test. We chatted loads along the way and I felt completely comfortable throughout every step of my training. I passed my off-road manoeuvres test first-time, and then went confidently into my HGV C+E driving test soon after. Which I’m pleased to say I passed first-time also! I couldn’t have done it without the excellent training I received from Russ, and the service and hospitality from everyone in the office and the rest of the training team was second to none. I honestly can not recommend them enough, and if this kind of training is a path you are looking to go down - you should 100% pick up the phone and have a chat with RSM! I will be recommending everyone I know to come to yourselves. Thank you so much for helping me start a new career!
