Class 1/Cat C+E HGV & LGV Driver Training

RSM Training lorry

HGV Class 1 'Articulated Lorry' Training

Driving articulated vehicles requires advanced skills in forward planning, defensive driving, and trailer reversing. For Category C (Class 2) licence holders, our Category C+E training builds on your existing experience, adding the skills to safely couple and uncouple your vehicle with a trailer.

If you hold a Category B (car) licence, our Fast Track Category C+E course takes your straight up to qualify for biggest vehicle category without having to take your Cat C Class 2 test first. After securing your provisional and passing theory tests, you’ll take one of our extended intensive courses, training in a Category C+E vehicle and completing both Module 3a (off-road) and Module 3b (on-road) tests

Once qualified, you’ll be licensed to drive any commercial vehicle (except PCV), including those towing a trailer.

All training at RSM is intensive and delivered on a one-to-one basis by highly experienced instructors. We focus on developing confident, safe, and professional drivers, preparing you to exceed the standards of the Category C+E driving test.
